On Saturday 29 August, Shake Shack and Yoga Movement took over the Emerald Pavilion on Sentosa for a morning of movement on the sand. TUNDRA ran the recovery end of it.
The recovery zone at the Emerald Pavilion, Saturday morning.
A wellness day at a beach club has a particular shape to it. People arrive, they move, and then there is a gap. The gap is where most events lose the room, because there is nothing to do in it except stand around holding a drink. A recovery zone fills that gap with something people actually want, and it gives them a reason to stay.

Built the day before, so the water was properly cold by the time anyone arrived.
Cold water on a beach in August
We ran two communal cold plunges and a single plunge, each with its own chiller, pump and continuous filtration. The kit went in on the Friday and the chillers ran overnight, which is the only reliable way to have cold water waiting at a morning start.
That matters more than it sounds. Outdoors, on sand, in Singapore in August, a chiller is fighting the ambient temperature all day and losing a little every time somebody climbs in. Filling on the morning does not work. You end up with a tub of tepid water and a queue of people wondering what the fuss is about.
The bit nobody expects to enjoy
Almost everyone hesitates at the edge. Then they get in, and about eight seconds later the face changes. It is the same every time, and it is the reason we send a guide rather than just dropping off equipment. Somebody has to talk you through the first thirty seconds.
Compression, for the people who were not getting in the water
FLUX compression boots and TUNDRAGUN massage guns did the rest of the work. Five sets of each, on rotation. Not everyone at a wellness day wants to be cold, and the boots are the station that catches the people who do not. Five chambers, ankle to hip, working upward from the foot, and twenty minutes of sitting still.

The compression row. Once people sit down here, they stay.
Movement first, recovery after
Yoga Movement ran the class on the sand and there was paddleboarding out on the water. Our end of it only makes sense because of theirs. Recovery is the second half of an effort, and it lands very differently when the effort actually happened first.

Most people meet us at an activation like this one, so it is worth saying what else we build. Solid cold plunges for homes, gyms and hotels, designed to stay where they are put. Saunas in Finnish cedar, infrared and steam. And custom builds, planned around your room, rooftop or wellness floor rather than around a catalogue page.
If you are choosing a unit rather than booking an event, start with the ice bath buyer's guide or the home sauna buyer's guide.
Thank you
Thanks to the Shake Shack team, to Yoga Movement, and to MOVE REPEAT for putting the morning together. And to everyone who got in the water before lunch on a Saturday.
