On 28 August, The Longevity Suite Singapore filled a room at METT Singapore for The Longevity Salon, an evening built around a single question: what happens when traditional practice and clinical science are put in the same room and asked to talk to each other. It sold out. TUNDRA ran the recovery lounge.

Ancient wisdom on one side of the screen, modern science on the other.
The premise
Most longevity events pick a side. They are either clinical, all biomarkers and protocols, or they are traditional, all breath and intention, and the two audiences rarely sit in the same room. The Longevity Salon put them on one stage on purpose and called it Where Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Science.
On the ancient wisdom side, Brandon Yew, a Chinese medicine physician, and Ash Shri, an Ayurvedic consultant. On the modern science side, Diana Kraemer, Chief Wellness Officer at The Longevity Suite Asia, and Dr. Neil Forrest, its medical advisor. Michelle Saram sat between them. TUNDRA and L'évive Labs came on as event partners.
What made it work was that nobody was there to win. Two thousand years of practice and a decade of clinical data mostly agree on the fundamentals. They just describe them differently.
A dry setup, for once
We usually turn up with tubs, chillers, hoses and a drainage plan. Not this time. The Salon was an evening event in a hotel function room, with a talk, a panel and a sound session, and a cold plunge would have been the wrong instrument entirely. You cannot ask somebody to change out of a linen shirt halfway through a discussion on healthspan.
So we brought the dry half of the recovery kit: FLUX compression boots and TUNDRAGUN massage guns, set up on lounge chairs along the side of the room. Guests could sit down in street clothes, get twenty minutes of compression, and stay in the conversation while they did it.

Laid out before doors. Recovery you can do in a shirt.
Twenty minutes, sitting still
The FLUX boots run five chambers from ankle to hip, inflating in sequence from the foot upward, which is the direction the lymphatic system already moves fluid. Twenty minutes is the usual session. The interesting part is not the mechanism, it is what people do while they are in them.
They stop. That is genuinely rare at an evening event. Everyone arrives carrying a phone and a schedule, and the boots take both away for twenty minutes because you physically cannot get up. Several people told us it was the first time they had sat down properly all day.

This is why we send a guide rather than dropping off equipment. The first minute is where people decide whether they like it.
The oldest recovery tool in the room
Mats, towels and eye masks went down for a sound session with Tibetan singing bowls. Sitting next to a row of wireless compression boots and a percussion massage gun with near infrared, it should have looked like a category error. It did not.
Both are doing the same job from opposite ends of history: shifting the nervous system out of the state it has been stuck in all day. One does it through the body, the other through the ears. The Salon's whole argument, really, laid out on the floor.

Longevity is not a trend, said the screen. Hard to argue with the room.

More than the event kit
Compression and percussion are the portable end of what we build. There is also the wet half: solid cold plunges for homes, gyms and hotels, saunas in Finnish cedar, infrared and steam, and custom builds planned around your room, rooftop or wellness floor rather than around a catalogue page.
If you are choosing a unit rather than booking an event, start with the ice bath buyer's guide or the home sauna buyer's guide.
Thank you
Thanks to The Longevity Suite Singapore for having us, to the speakers for a genuinely open conversation, to L'évive Labs, and to METT Singapore. This was our third time working with The Longevity Suite this year, after the Longevity Lounge in June, and it will not be the last.
If you were there, the TUNDRA × The Longevity Suite page has what we put together for guests.
Bring TUNDRA to your event
Not every event needs a cold plunge. Sometimes it needs the version of recovery people can do in the clothes they arrived in. Talks, launches, salons, race days and gym openings: we build the recovery experience and run it with our own team. Planning something? Get in touch or explore the TUNDRA recovery tech collection.
