IVALO

The Ivalo is a traditional Finnish sauna for two or four, for indoor and outdoor use. A fixed glass pane and a glass door at the front, tapered glass on both sides, WPC outside and hemlock inside. The upper bench is 1,300 mm wide in the 2 pax and 1,900 mm wide in the 4 pax.

Finnish heat. A Harvia Cilindro stands in the front corner behind a hemlock guard: the PC70XE, 6.8 kW with 90 kg of stones, in the 2 pax; the PC110XE, 10.8 kW with 120 kg of stones, in the 4 pax. Pour water on the stones for steam. The Xenio control panel sits outside next to the door, and the MyHarvia app starts the sauna from your phone. A door switch makes remote start safe.

Room to sit up. 2,070 mm inside at the front and 2,004 mm at the back, with 1,104 mm between the upper bench and the ceiling, in both sizes. The door is on the right, so you step in clear of the heater.

Indoors and outdoors. The WPC exterior does not grey, swell or crack in tropical heat and rain and never needs oiling. Behind it are a ventilated cavity with a breather membrane, 50 mm of mineral wool and an aluminium vapour barrier. The black metal roof falls 70 mm to the back to shed rain, the vents have rain hoods, and eight black block feet hold the cabin 70 mm clear of the ground.

Why glass. A small sauna with solid walls is a closed box. With glass on three sides the Ivalo takes in daylight and the room or garden around it. 10 mm tempered safety glass, with the TUNDRA wordmark sandblasted into the fixed front pane.

Electrical supply. The 2 pax runs on a single-phase 230 V circuit (1 x 35 A) or on three phase. The 4 pax needs a three-phase 400 V supply (3 x 16 A), so it suits landed homes and commercial sites.

The Ivalo is hard-wired to its own circuit. The heater decides the supply:

2 pax, Harvia Cilindro PC70XE, 6.8 kW

  • Single phase, 230 V: one dedicated circuit, 1 × 35 A, supply cable 3 × 10 mm² (Harvia).
  • Three phase, 400 V: 3 × 10 A, supply cable 5 × 1.5 mm² (Harvia).

4 pax, Harvia Cilindro PC110XE, 10.8 kW

  • Three phase, 400 V: 3 × 16 A, supply cable 5 × 2.5 mm² (Harvia). Common in landed homes and commercial buildings.
  • Single phase, 230 V: needs 1 × 50 A (Harvia), which few homes can supply. Plan the 4 pax on three phase.
  • Lights, speakers and control: a small extra load on the same supply.

The heater runs at full load for 30 to 60 minutes at a time, so it needs a dedicated circuit. A Licensed Electrical Worker installs it to the Harvia installation manual before our commissioning visit. We confirm the supply arrangement for your home in writing beforehand. The Ivalo is not suitable for HDB flats, where appliances above 15 A are not allowed.
